I know what it’s like to be a client sitting across from a yawning, aloof therapist. I felt like just another appointment on the calendar.
Instead, I provide a compassionate, safe haven, where you can "press pause" when you're weary from life stressors, express difficult emotions, and take the next steps for a more fulfilling life.
In addition to providing direct services, I've clinically supervised approximately 1,000 cases throughout my career.
I use various theoretical approaches because therapeutic perspectives can complement each other, and sometimes they overlap. The use of a theoretical approach (or combination) will depend on your specific needs. I consider every part that makes you unique and tailor the interventions accordingly.
One example of a modality I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is considered to be the gold standard of treatment and is recommended by the American Psychological Association to reduce symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
My specialty is using the evidence-based practices, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Seeking Safety, to help people impacted by trauma and/or addiction.
Also, I offer aviation therapy for people affected by the extraordinary life stressors of the aviation professions.
I’m an accredited provider of Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), which is an internationally recognized program that gives parents the skills they need to build strong family relationships, manage misbehavior, and prevent problems from happening in the first place.
As a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), I continue ongoing education to stay current in areas, such as ethics, therapeutic interventions, and trauma-informed care.
"Each person is a unique individual. Hence, psychotherapy should be formulated to meet the uniqueness of the individual’s needs, rather than tailoring the person to fit the Procrustean bed of a hypothetical theory of human behavior."
Milton H. Erickson

If you would like, I can include Christianity in the treatment plan as it relates to your goals. However, I'm happy to work with clients of other religions or no religious affiliation while respecting their beliefs.
Regardless, I'm a Holy Spirit-led therapist, meaning I seek divine wisdom because human knowledge is limited.
